Going backwards
OK so I'm 2.5 kg up from where I should be - that's the time to pull the emergency cord and start really watching my food intake again.
I think that coming off lockdown is much harder than going into lockdown. The thing that's the same is that your established routines are completely disrupted, and the intuitive and conscious eating habits that you've built up are broken. You need to establish new ones. But, this time it's a time of celebration and of plenty. How can you not say yes to the friends you haven't been out with for months, and not go out for that meal or those drinks? Now that you can loiter in the supermarket again, why not buy those treats and yummy things that you avoided in that commando-raid style of shopping that was previously what you did?
The cupboards have also been relatively bare and now all of the sudden there is plenty.
How can I reverse this? I don't actually know. I may have to sign back up to Noom again and put myself back into the programme of reading. But for now I'm trying to log contentiously and think about what I'm putting into my body.
Not so successful so far. But I'll keep working on it.
