The elephant and the rider
The best way to help your rider is to plan.
- Come prepared
- Control your environment
- Have a plan and commit to it (write it down; calendar it)
- Have a backup plan (eg I can't make the gym so why don't I go for a run instead? My son really wants Indian so I can order a rice dish and just eat half of it - I don't need to finish his creamy butter chicken)
Decision fatigue - decision making skills deteriorate over time.
Set realistic goals. Treat yourself regularly. Be nice to your elephant.
Recover normally. Don't overcorrect. Don't deprive your elephant.
This week I'll give my elephant hot sauce on my scrambled eggs and ginger beer before dinner to keep it happy.
Goal this week - look at my colours and see what can go from red to yellow, yellow to green.
